Another day at the office…
Jeg bliver nødt til at skrive lidt om dagen i dag.. Det har været en kongedag!!
Skærer 3. pladsen af!
I dag er Cykelcross Super Prestige Series II løbet af staben. Jeg vidste fra morgenstunden ikke helt hvad jeg skulle forvente af dagen, og må nok indrømme at en Big Eazy med Mike&Co. trak en smule mere, da jeg på forhånd godt kunne mærke at der ikke var diamanter i benene og egenligt bare heller ville ”julle” lidt rundt i det fantastiske vejr. Men en aftale er en aftale, så efter morgenmaden hentede vi Andrew og kørte mod løbspladsen nær San Francisco.
Jeg har aldrig været til et cykelcrossløb i DK, men hvis det viser sig at der bare er et halv så godt ”race-camp-setup” til disse løb i Dk, vil jeg leve og ånde for cykelcross forever. Er næsten ved at smide en F-bombe, for at understrege at amerikaner forstår at stable et godt løb på benene. Forrygende speaking, musik, boder med mad og cykler, fantastisk målområde, med kæmpe tidstagningstavle, reklamebandere og vigtigst af alt en ca. 300 tilskuere.
Desuden er der enormt mange til start i alle klasser, Dame/Herre A,B,C og alle ungdomsklasserne. Jeg nåede kun at se Herre-A og Dame-A, hvor der var ca. 80 og 50 deltager i hver kategori. Jeg besluttede mig for – efter Andrew’s anbefalinger – at starte i B(45 min løbstid), selvom jeg nu måske foretrak at køre mod de hårde drenge (60 min):0)
Andrew kom desværre lidt skidt fra start og det kombineret med, at det lykkes ham at vride sin
lukke ring af sit baghjul kostede ham dyrt på placeringsfronten.
Efter Herre A blev det min tur, ca 60 deltagere. De første 25 blev seedet og resten måtte finde plads nede bagved. Nej hvor var det skod at stå i den bagerste ¼ af feltet og på forhånd have ca. 25 meter op til nr. 1, som efter få minutter kunne blive til 250 meter pga kø. Skidt pyt, jeg var her for at have det sjovt og lære lidt om cykelcross. Da fløjten gik, glemte jeg imidlertid alt om at køre for sjov. Vidste jo også godt på forhånd, at det med at køre for sjov bliver en helt del sjovere, når man ligger med i front, så der ville jeg op! Meeeeeen, nej nej nej en første runde!! Kø, kø og af og løbe, folk skubbede, styrtede og kunne slet ikke styre cyklen i det meget løse underlag. Gjorde alt for at undgå at køre folk over, eller blive skubbet ud af kurs og begyndte i stedet for selv at bruge samme taktik, skære folk hårdt indenom i svingende, bruge albuerne i overhalingen og smile af de kommentarer man fik med i farten.
Ny taktik - musik og warm-up
Efter 3 runder havde jeg fundet et godt flow, som primært bestod af at træde så hårdt i pedalerne hele tiden! De virkede og kørte mig ind i top 10, fik tider af en meget begejstret Andrew, som mente jeg skulle se at få noget mere fart i cyklen;0) Da jeg overhalede nr. 3 på sidste runde, smittede folks begejstring så meget af, at jeg nu anede chancen for at fange nr. 1 og 2. Måske det i bagklogskabens klare lys, var en umulig opgave, da 25 sekunders hul er meget at hente på sidste 750 meter… Jeg gjorde et forsøg og åd mig selv totalt op det sidste stykke, men det lykkes dem at holde mig bagved med bare sølle 7 sekunder.
Var på samme tid både lykkelig over et veloverstået cykelcrossløb, men samtidig også bitter over ikke at have nakket de to forreste, som skulle være glade for jeg startede bagerst i feltet! 
Hold op det var en super fed oplevelse, og aldrig har jeg haft så høj puls og samtidig følt mig så tilpas under et løb som dette. For dem der interesseret, kan jeg tilføje maxpuls: 189, Gennemsnitspuls: 184 over de 45 min.

I nearly had an assgasm when I scan that. That’s just nuts.
